Okay, so you've made it to 'Councillor Social Media, 2010'. Have you taken the first step to enlightenment? Well that's up to you and how you feel by the end of the day, really!
Right now, you might be feeling any number of ways: curious, sceptical, enthusiastic, worried, confident, interested, nervous.
Believe me, that's fine. Infact, it's more than fine, it's bloody marvellous! That's because there isn't one person among us who doesn't have those feelings, and more, about today's session. No, really!
And that's what we want to capture here, in the comments box. How do you feel about what's coming, right here, right now? What did you think last night, knowing you had this today?
The challenge? Summarise those feelings in no more than 140 characters!
I am wondering whether there is any realistic likelihood of my actually using anything I may learn here.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to compare my level of knowledge and understanding with that of others, to pick up tips and tricks of the trade I can take away and use, and to place my knowledge and intentions in a safer and more viable framework.
ReplyDeleteI am looking for forward to busting through the jargon and seeing if these applications can help Councillors in the 21st century.
ReplyDeleteI fell a bit nervous about today as there seems a lot to learn but I am also looking forward to the knowlede I may gain today.
ReplyDeleteI often hear of friends commenting on what they have read on twitter and facebook and feel left out
ReplyDeleteI hope I'll learn to do this without spending too much time, and also how to get my constituents to notice!
ReplyDeleteI wonder about how much it costs and how much time it takes.
ReplyDeleteHere to learn!
ReplyDeleteUse social media tools already. Want to learn how to use for campaigning (political and community work)
ReplyDeleteVaguely apprehensive bbut hoping to become more familiar with facebook through to mysterys of twitter.
ReplyDeleteInterested in learning more. Wary of being compromised, in terms of cllr positioning. York Website so slow, lose will to live waiting for it to load.
ReplyDeleteAlways willing to learn despite an IT background. Hoping for better ways to use IT for council work.
ReplyDeleteLooking for ideas on how to make use of media for campaigning
ReplyDeleteChallenge is using social media in a 'human' way - PR streams really obvious - but have to be careful to stay 'on message' too.
ReplyDeleteI am looking for guidance
ReplyDeleteJust looking for advice on avoiding political gaffs and any new ideas
ReplyDeleteEnthusiastic about this, I have established my blog etc. and now need todevelop in terms of traffic visiting the site etc.
ReplyDeleteI already dabble with it but am keen to see how other people use it.
ReplyDeleteI use Facebook and use this in my role as local councillor and look forward to seeing how other people use social media - pick up any tips
ReplyDeleteI am a total novice really but am looking forward to learning what it's all about. Going in with an open mind!
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about it so am keen to find out how I could use this in my role as a councillor
